Outlook 2003 |
IMPORTANT! Please no not change your account information or server information to reflect the those you see in the screen shots. They are simply a visual tool to help you find the check box in your email program to turn on SMTP authentication. Simply follow the step by step instructions to turn on SMTP authentication.
To configure Outlook 2003 for Authentication
1. Close all programs
2. Open Outlook 2003
3. Click the Tools menu, and select Email Accounts...
4. Select View or change an existing email account

5. Highlight your email account and click Change

6. Click the button that says More Settingsā¦

7. Click the tab that says Outgoing Server

8. Check the box that says My Outgoing server (SMTP) requires Authentication

9. Click on the Advanced Tab
10. Change the SMTP server port number from 25 to 587.

Click OK. You're done! Click Next window and then click Finish you are now ready to start sending mail.
