Apple Mail 3

IMPORTANT! Please no not change your account information or server information to reflect the those you see in the screen shots. They are simply a visual tool to help you find the check box in your email program to turn on SMTP authentication. Simply follow the step by step instructions to turn on SMTP authentication.

To set up your Apple Mail 3 to enable Authentication:

1. Open Apple Mail.
2. Click Mail, and select Preferences...

3. Open the Accounts tab, and click on your account

4. Click the dropdown for Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
5. Choose Edit Server List…

6. Change the Server Port to 587
7. Click the dropdown for Authentication:
8. Select Password
9. Click OK
10. You’re Done, you can now close any windows still open on your computer to return to your email program.
